Karnataka ePass Scholarship 2021-2022 (Apply & Check Scholarship Status)

Karnataka ePASS Scholarship 2021-22: The Government of Karnataka has developed the Karnataka ePASS portal to organize the scholarship applications of the state. The Department of Backward Class Welfare, DBCW, and in all ways, is enabling carbon footprint reduction.

This online portal was launched on the 1st of October 2013 by the Honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka.

Post-Matric Scholarship Application

The students of Karnataka pursuing Post-Matriculation level courses can apply for the scheme. The shortlisted students will get up to Rs. 3500/- per annum.

Here are the basic eligibility factors and the application process.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a domicile of Karnataka state
  • The family’s annual income must be less than Rs. 1,50,000/- (for Category 1 Candidates), and less than Rs. 2,00,000/- (for 2A, 3A, 3B category candidates) from all the sources
  • Must have enrolled in any of the post-matriculation courses

Reward:

The shortlisted candidates will get an annual reward of Rs. 3500/

Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications at KarePass Portal.

Food and Accommodation Scholarship Application

The post-matric students of Karnataka state pursuing in Government (or) Government-aided colleges can apply for Food and Accommodation scholarship.

The beneficiaries will get financial assistance of up to Rs. 1500/- per month. Interested candidates can go through the eligibility and application process.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant must be a domicile of Karnataka state
  • Must have admitted in any of the post-matric courses in Govt/ Govt-aided colleges
  • Annual income of the family must be less than Rs. 2,50,000/- for Category-1 and less than Rs. 5,00,000/- for Category 2A, 3A, 3B candidates.

Reward:

All the shortlisted students will get a monthly assistance of Rs. 1500/- for over 10 months in the academic year.

Candidates have to renew the scholarship every year until they finish the course period.

Fee Concession (FC) Scheme

All the post-graduation students of Karnataka can apply for the Fee Concession (FC) scheme if they meet the following eligibility factors.

Eligibility:

  • Must belong to the Karnataka state
  • The applicant must be enrolled in any of the post-graduation course
  • The family’s annual income must not exceed Rs. 1,00,000/- for Category-1 and Rs. 2,50,000/- for Category 2A, 3A, 3B candidates.

Reward:

The shortlisted students will get benefits of up to Rs. 1750/- per annum.

Karnataka ePass Application Procedure

Applications are accepted online on the official portal ‘KarePass”. Follow the below-steps to submit the application.

  • Visit the official website of Karnataka ePass i.e., www.karepass.cgg.gov.in
  • Scroll down to the bottom of the page
  • Click on the Fresh & Renewal Registrations for PMS, FAAS, FC and NUR
  • A new page opens with a application form
  • Fill the form as per your educational certificates and upload the necessary documents
  • Cross check the details and submit the application

About Karnataka ePASS Portal (KarePass)

The department of Backward Class Welfare in Karnataka undertakes important measures that fulfill the objectives such as providing assistance to the financially challenged BC students.

The entire process has been made electronic and is claimed to function as an electronic payment and application system of Scholarships.

The ePASS website basically functions to cater to online post-matric scholarships in two distinctive areas: An application system that can be accessed by the Post Matriculation Students and second, the disbursement of the scholarship as per the commitment given by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare. 

The Government of Karnataka has made this system to make the operations transparent, maintain the timeliness, make hassle-free transactions, and make it operational through ease of governance.

The system does interconnects welfare departments, treasury, and database particulars relating to Secondary Schools Leaving Certificate (SSLC) and the committed banks to disburse scholarships.

Karnataka ePass Scholarships

There are different areas in which the DBCW provides scholarships to the selected BC students doing graduation, diploma courses, etc. They are the Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS), Food & Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS), Fee Concession (FC) Scheme.

ePASS portal does provide additional services such as Pre-Matric Scholarship, and National wide scholarship labeled under the Vidyasiri scheme. In order to seek the ePASS Karnataka Scholarship, a student should be a permanent resident of Karnataka.

The second important criterion is, the annual family income and Once both conditions are met, a student will get a scholarship online directly deposited in he/her bank account through a designated bank under the scheme. For Post Matric Scholarship, the scholarship is up to 3,500 per annum.

The scholarship is given depending on the category and the family’s annual income, for category 1, annual income should be less than 1.50 lakhs, and for categories 2A, 3A, and 3B, the annual income should be less than 2 lakhs.

Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS)

In the case of the Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS), the students should be pursuing a post-matric level in Government/Government – aided / housing colleges and the scholarship will be 1,500 per month for 10 months.

The annual family income of the student for the Category 1 should be less than 2.50 lakhs, and for Categories 2A, 3A, and 3B should be less than 5 lakhs.

Fee Concession Scheme

In the case of the Fee Concession (FC) Scheme, the scheme is exclusively meant for postgraduates and similar conditions do apply.

For Category – 1, the annual family income should be below 1.0 lakh, and for Category 2A, 3A, & 3B the annual family income should be below 2.5 lakhs.

For students who do satisfy the above-mentioned conditions, shall get fee disbursed for training fee, laboratory fee, sports fee, readers charge up to 1,750 per annum.

From time to time, application for scholarship admissions, processing of the applicants’ forms, and acceptance of the applicant’s forms are placed on the DBCW portal.

However, the application for new admissions for the year 2021 has been kept open and students are allowed to make an entry to the application page over the ePASS Karnataka Government Portal which is easily available in searches.
