Scholarship for Girls 2020-21: There are 50+ scholarship programs for girl students in India. Few are from State & Central Governments and the remaining are funded by various private organizations.

Most of the girl students are not even applying for the schemes due to the lack of awareness.

1. Santoor Women’s Scholarship

The Santoor Women’s Scholarship is offered by the Wipro Cares India. The objective of the scheme is to encourage the girl students to finish their higher education.

The priority is given for the students from economically weaker background.

The girl students who have passed their 12th standard and willing to pursue higher education can apply for the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a girl student
  • Only the students from the states Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka are eligible
  • Must have passed the 12th class or PUC from any of the Govt. College
  • The student must have passed the 10th standard in the local Govt. School
  • Those who have finished their 10th & 12th classes in private school/ college are not eligible to apply
  • Must have admitted into graduate level program

Rewards:

The scholarships are provided to 900 students every year.

Each candidate will get a scholarship amount of Rs. 24,000/- per year.

Required Documents:

  • 10th & 12th class mark sheets
  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Aadhar Card
  • Bank’s Pass Book (For Transferring Scholarship Amount)

2. Fair and Lovely Scholarship

The Fair and Lovely Scholarship is a CSR initiative of Hindustan Unilever Limited under the umbrella of the Fair & Lovely Career Foundation.

This scholarship is for the Indian Girl Students who got passed the 12th standard and seeking higher education.

The shortlisted candidates will get a scholarship up to Rs. 50,000/-.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The candidate must have an Indian Citizenship
  • Only girl students are eligible to apply
  • The age limit of the candidate is 15 to 30 years
  • Must have passed the 12th class and got admitted into higher-level courses
  • The minimum aggregate in the 10th & 12th classes should be 60%
  • The family’s income must be less than Rs. 6,00,000/- per annum

Required Documents:

  • Passport Size Photograph
  • Photo ID Proof
  • A valid Income Certificate
  • BPL Card
  • 10th Class Pass Certificate
  • 12th Marksheet
  • Graduation Certificate (In the case of PG Students)
  • Proof of Age (10th Memo or Date of Birth Certificate)
  • Admission Letter of Graduate Level Course
  • For PG Students: Admission Letter of PG Course/ Fee Receipt

3. Tata Housing Scholarships for Meritorious Girl Students

There are more than ten scholarships under the tree of TATA Trusts, the Tata Housing Scholarships for Meritorious Girl Students is one of them.

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial support to the meritorious students from the economically weaker background.

The girl students who are in studying the second year of B.Tech/ BE/ B.Arch in Civil Engineering/ Architecture & 1st year of full-time MBA course in Construction Project Management can apply for the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only girl students are eligible to apply
  • The annual income of the family must be less than Rs. 3 Lakh
  • Must be pursuing 2nd year of B.Tech/ BE/ B.Arch in Civil Engineering/ Architecture from any of the recognized University/ College
  • The candidate must pass the 1st year of her course with minimum 50% aggregate
  • The girl students who are pursuing 1st year of full-time MBA (2 years program) in Construction Project Management can also apply

Rewards:

The selected candidates will get an award upto a maximum of Rs. 60,000/- towards the payment of Tuition Fee, Library Fee, Exam Fee, etc.,

Renewal:

The students must score at least 60% marks to get the scholarship for the next academic years.

  • 1st Year BE/ B.Tech Mark Sheet

4. AICTE Pragati Scholarship for Girls

The “Pragati Scholarship for Girls” is an initiative of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The girl students who are pursuing a technical diploma or degree courses at any of the AICTE approved institutes can apply for the scheme.

Apart from the renewals, the Pragati Scholarship for Girls is benefiting 4000 students every year.

The shortlisted students will get a scholarship of Rs. 30,000/- towards the tuition fee and other expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Only Girl Students are eligible to apply for the scheme
  • Must have admitted into 1st year of Degree/ Diploma course in any of the AICTE approved institutes
  • The annual income of the family must be less than Rs. 8 Lakh from all sources
  • Only two girls are allowed to apply from a single family
