Maharashtra Scholarship 2021: The Maharashtra state government is offering various scholarship schemes in association with the central government.

There are 45+ schemes for Post-Matric courses and more than 20 schemes for Pre-Matric.

Apart from the educational schemes, the government is also offering various schemes for the welfare of Farmers, Pensioners, Labours, and other senior citizens.

These scholarships are applicable to all the students of Maharashtra pursuing Pre-Matric & Post-Matric courses.

Maharashtra Scholarship Maha DBT

There are more than 65 Schemes for Maharashtra Students funded by various departments of state and the Central Governments.

Without any delay, let’s go through each scholarship in detail.

1. Post-Matric Scholarship for SC & Neo Buddhist Students

The “Post-Matric Scholarship for SC & Neo Buddhist Students” is offered by the Department of Social Justice & Special Assistance, Government of India.

The shortlisted students will get the financial assistance of Tuition Fees, Exam Fee, and Maintenance allowances.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The primary eligibility is that the candidate should belong to Maharashtra State
  • The candidate must belong to the SC or Neo Buddhist category
  • The family’s annual income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000/- from all sources
  • Must have passed the 10th standard & Pursuing11th or above classes are eligible
  • The students of Maharashtra pursuing in other states are required to follow the guidelines given by the Government of India

Required Documents:

  • Valid Income Certificate of the Parent/ Guardian
  • Income certificate of the Husband (In case of married girl students)
  • Caste Certificate
  • 10th or equivalent exam pass certificate
  • Certificate of the last passed examination
  • Gap Certificate (If any)
  • Hostel Certificate (If the student stays in a hostel)

Rewards:

The shortlisted students will get a benefit of Tuition & Exam Fee along with the maintenance allowances.

The Tuition Fee and Examination Fee is paid to the students as per their institutions. Apart from this, the maintenance allowances are given based on the category of the student.

Maintenance Allowance:

Note: The amount is paid for 10 months in a year. The candidates are required to renew the scholarship every year by submitting the necessary documents.

2. Post Matric Scholarship for SC & Neo Buddhist Students (Tuition & Exam Fee)

Post-matric Maharashtra Scholarship: This scheme is very similar to the above one. The only difference is there are no maintenance allowances in this scheme.

The beneficiaries will get paid the mandatory fee of the Institution/ College.

The following are the fee that the beneficiaries get from this scheme

  • Tuition Fee
  • Examination Fee
  • Other Mandatory Fee

Note: There are no Maintenance Allowances, Special Allowances, Transport Charges, Hostel Charges, etc.,

Eligibility Criteria:

The eligibility factors are also much similar to the above scheme.

  • The applicant must belong to the Maharashtra State
  • Only the SC & Neo Buddhist category students are eligible
  • Must have passed 10 or equivalent exam
  • The students who are pursuing the 11th or above classes in Maharashtra (recognized by the Govt. of MP) are eligible
  • The income of the parents/ guardians must be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh per annum from all sources

Scholarship Renewal:

The application is valid for only 1 year. Students are needed to renew the application to get the scholarship for the next academic year.

There are a few guidelines to follow and a few documents required to get the scholarship renewed.

Required Documents:

  • Income Certificate of the Parent/ Guardian
  • Caste Certificate
  • Marksheet of the previous year
  • 10th or Equivalent Pass Certificate
  • Hostel Certificate (For Hostellers)

3. Maintenance Allowance for Students Studying Professional Courses (SC Category)

This scholarship is offered by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, Government of India. This scheme is applicable to SC Category Students pursuing professional courses only.

Monthly and annual allowances are provided based on the duration of the course taken by the candidate.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The students who are pursuing professional courses in any of the recognized College/ University
  • Must belong to the SC Category
  • The student must be the Post-Matric Scholarship Holder of any of the Central Government Schemes
  • Annual Family income must be less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh
  • The students who are staying in Government/ Private Hostels are eligible

Rewards:

The maintenance and other allowances are provided for a maximum period of 10 months in a year. The students are required to renew the scholarship for the next academic year.

Allowances to the Students who are staying in Govt. Hostels:

4. Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship for SC Students

Under the department of Social Justice & Special Assistance, the Govt. of Maharashtra is offering the “Rajarshri Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Merit Scholarship” for SC category students.

The students who belong to the SC Category and pursuing 11th or 12th classes in Maharashtra state are eligible to apply for the scheme.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a domicile of Maharashtra state
  • The applicant must belong to the SC category
  • Must have passed 10th standard with 75% or above marks
  • The students who are pursuing 11th & 12th classes are eligible
  • There are no restrictions on the family’s income

Benefits:

  • The shortlisted students will get a scholarship of Rs. 300/- per month
  • Scholarship will be given for 2 years (11th & 12th classes)

Note: The scholarship amount is given for a maximum of 10 months in a year. Which means Rs. 3,000/- per year.

Required Documents:

  • Domicile Certificate (Proof of Residence)
  • Caste Certificate
  • 10th class marks memo
  • TC from the school (copy)
  • Joining/ Admission Letter of 11th class

5. Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna 2021-22

The scholarship named Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna is funded by the Government of Maharashtra under the Directorate of Higher Education Department.

This scheme is applicable to the children of registered labour in the state of Maharashtra. The students of Maharashtra who are willing to take professional , technical courses can apply for the scheme.

Eligibility:

The applicant must meet the following eligibility factors before submitting the application.

  • The applicant must belong to the Maharashtra state
  • His/ Her parent must be a registered labour in the state of Maharashtra
  • Annual income of the family must be less than 8 lakh per annum
  • The applicant must have taken the admission in to any of the professional/ technical course

Students who have taken non-professional courses are eligible. In this case the annual income limit is less than 1 lakh per annum.

Scholarship Benefits:

Shortlisted students will get benefits up to Rs. 30,000 per annum based on the following factors

  • Type of course
  • Institution and location you choose

  • Certificate of Domicile
  • Previous Year’s Mark Sheet
  • Proof of admission from the college
  • Labour Registration Certificate of the parent
  • Income Certificate
  • Attendance and Hosteller Certificates
  • GAP certificates if any

Application Date: The application process for the academic year 2021-2022 was closed on 30th September 2021.
